Call for Papers in Special Issue of “Advances in Meteorology”
June 30, 2017 - November 24, 2017
Special Issue in “Advances in Meteorology”
Meteorological Data Acquisition, Processing, Analysis, and Application in Crop Production Management
The application of meteorological data to crop production management is essential, since crop production is largely dependent on weather and climate despite recent advances in agricultural technology. Interpretation of agrometeorological data is the key to reveal the effects of weather and climate on soils, plants, animals, and related production in agricultural systems. Precision crop production management
is enhanced by field inspection and optical sensors on space-borne, airborne, and ground on-the-go platforms with fusion of knowledge and understanding of meteorological changes.
We invite innovative contributions of original research and review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to enhance the role of meteorological data for effciency and sustainability of agricultural systems. We are particularly interested in articles describing the novel methods and schemes that incorporate meteorological data and information into the analysis of crop growth and production management,
in particular new technologies of weather data acquisition and advances in weather data processing analysis with soil, plants, and field data.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Latest technologies for agricultural meteorological data acquisition, processing, analysis, and modeling
- Fusion of meteorological data with remotely sensed data in crop growth monitoring
- Meteorological data in crop phenotyping
- Meteorological data for assessment of risks relating to pests, diseases, and extreme weather (drought, hail, wind, freeze, ood, etc.) events
- Tactical planning and decision-making of agricultural operations using meteorological data and information
Authors can submit their manuscripts through the Manuscript Tracking System at https://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/amete/mdap/.
